On the one hand, it demonstrates humanity’s capacity to transcend its own limitations; on the other, it also reveals the absolute limits of collective human power: the height of the tower cannot ultimately be compared with the height of the sky. In our fascination with knowledge and technology, we have obscured the sacred dimension.
